Why I ask for donations
Cute Desk App is used every day by thousands of people in dozens of countries, and it is free for every one of them. There are no ads, no accounts, no data for sale and no premium tier — and I want to keep it that way.
People love the Sheets widget, a mini-Excel for quick number crunching. People write documents in the Notes widget the way they would in Word, or open the Markdown documents an AI hands them. They design posts, banners and social media images with the Canvas widget, play a game of classic Solitaire, Windows 95 style, and take a break during the day with the Breath widget to relax. From office and productivity tools to games, Cute Desk App has it all.
Free to use does not mean free to run. Keeping Cute Desk App alive costs me money, and I pay for it myself. Every day the app needs hosting and a global content network, the Chat widget answers questions with a large language model I pay for, the blog audio and widget images live in cloud storage, and domains and certificates come up for renewal. The more people use Cute Desk App, the more it costs — and I love that more people use it. I spend many hours listening to your suggestions and feedback to create new widgets for you. On top of that come the hours I spend fixing bugs and translating the app into Spanish, French and German.
I'm building this for you. I've been building apps since I was 16 years old and I still love it — the web, the code, the interfaces, the logic. Code is how I make art, and Cute Desk App is where I get to be creative, curious and a little geeky, for you. There are no investors and no advertising revenue behind it. - AI Chat — every answer from the built-in, key-free Chat widget runs on a server I pay for.
- Storage — blog narration, widget artwork and other media in cloud storage.
- Domains and certificates — the yearly bills that keep cutedesk.app online and secure.
- New widgets — I listen to your suggestions and feedback, and I create new widgets for you. That takes a lot of my time, creating perfect widgets that you love.
- Development time — bug fixes, browser updates, translations and new widgets.

Questions
Do I have to donate to use Cute Desk App?
No. The app is completely free and every widget is available to everyone. Nothing is locked behind a donation, and there is no premium tier.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
No. Cute Desk App is not a charity — it is my personal project, run through my company, Digiguys Inc. — so donations are not tax-deductible.
Can I cancel a monthly or yearly donation?
Yes, at any time. Recurring donations are billed by Stripe. Use the “Manage my donation” link above to update your card, change the amount or cancel.
Which currencies and payment methods are accepted?
Stripe accepts major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and shows prices in your local currency where available.
Do I get anything for donating?
My heartfelt thanks, and a better app for everyone. Donations pay for the things listed above, so each one goes straight back into Cute Desk App.
